Do not worry or be anxious…easy to say, but definitely hard to do. I seem to be having a lot of conversations about “worry” recently with quite a number of different people. Here are some of the topics…

  • I’m worried about my kids…
  • I’m worried about my job…
  • I’m worried about my aging parents…
  • I’m worried about this economy…
  • I’m worried about my church…
  • I’m worried about my marriage…
  • I’m worried about my finances…

These are all valid concerns. To find answers, let’s go to God’s Word. Recall the words of the Apostle Paul to the church at Philippi…Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7 (NASB)

We can rest assured that the answer to our worry or anxiousness is in Christ Jesus. If we come to Him as Paul instructs us, He will “guard our hearts and minds” from that worry. The peace that God gives us does surpass all human understanding. It is unexplainable. I know this first hand, if you want to know just ask me. I live it every day!
